Mailed appeals - YWCA
The YWCA, a leading charity working with young women facing poverty, discrimination or abuse, produced an appeal pack to send to their donors.
The pack used real life case studies of domestic violence to demonstrate what the need was, and talked about what the YWCA could achieve with more funding.
The mailing was sent out at the end of November to coincide with National White Ribbon Day against violence against women, and contrasted the joy of Christmas with the horror of domestic violence.
The charity was hoping to bring in £7,500 in donations – actually £9,763 was sent in.
